Day 3
Today Westminster Abbey. We spent three hours touring the Abbey. It was wall to wall people, but amazingly it didn't bother me. Probably because we had an audio tour and Kristen had the Easter Trail to fill out. She was really into it. Kristen liked walking around and thought the tombs of the Kings and Queens were pretty cool. She did however think it was pretty creepy walking on the tombs of dead poets and authors, ie Charles Dickens. We ate lunch at the Abbey, overlooking the little courtyard. |
We had to go on the London Eye, which we didn't have wait that long for. The line moved pretty quickly, considering how long it was. We walked into a capsule which held about 10 - 12 people. We lucked out. The weather was clear, so we had a birds eye view of Big Ben, Parliament, St. Paul's Cathedral and of course London.
After we were done got back on the tube and were headed home, but it was still early so we went to Covent Garden. Kristen loved it! A bunch of little shops and kiosks with a small market in the square with booths set up with antiques and jewelry, Kristen picked up a cute bracelet. It was now dinner time so we had dinner in an outdoor cafe. It was the perfect spot to end the day. I told Kristen we should head home soon, Daddy will be wondering where we are, since it's now 7:00.
