2011 Highlights
Slide Scanning
Dave is doing the Retired Guy stuff of scanning all our old slides and getting them digital and organized. There are several thousand. There will be web updates soon... after I figure out how to best integrate Weebly with Google+ (Picasa) albums and the trip diaries.

High School!
Can you believe Kristen is in high school?!?!?!? We can't. She is loving it, between the Marching Band, Chamber Choir, Culinary Academy, French classes, and new friends.
RIP Nextel Phone
After almost 20 years of free phone service, our Nextel bit the dust when Sprint deactivated it.
Southeast Trip
After School got out we visited Dave's parents, took Kristen to see Duke, visited Monticello and Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, etc..
ZZ Top
Jill and Christie saw ZZ Top from the 4th row at the Basie.
Grounds for Sculpture
Jill and Kristen went with friends to the interesting Grounds For Sculpture. Those with a keen eye will see Kristen inside Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party.
Sayonara 8th Grade
In one crazy month, Kristen graduated from 8th grade, got Confirmed, marched in the Memorial Day Parade, went to Hershey to take second with the school Band, had her braces off, rabbit-sat, had the 8th Grade Formal, and had her 14th birthday!
Jesse Malin and Alejandro Escovedo
First row at the Basie again, sat next to someone I hadn't seen since high school (!), and saw a great Jesse Malin with a very good Alejandro Escovedo in electric mode. Here is Alejandro, the shows were taped and are out there.
Florida!
Jill and Kristen drove to Florida with friends and saw Jill's parents. They went to Disney, Universal, on a jet boat, and to WARMTH!
Lucinda Williams
We saw Lucinda Williams from the front row at the Basie. Show is on the web.
Asleep the the Wheel
All 3 of us saw Western Swing 9-time Grammy winners Asleep at the Wheel at the Basie in March, from the front row. A much better show than any of us expected. .
Cooking
Kristen accepted her invite to the Monmouth County Culinary Academy High School for next year, and participated with the chef in making and serving a stir-fry at the Middle School.

Retirement!
Dave Retired, and has not missed working for 5 minutes.
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
The girls saw Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings at the Basie from the 2nd row. Bad snow issues so I didn't go. They loved it. She is a modern day James Brown and a former Rikers Island corrections officer.
Gregg Allman
The girls went to see Gregg Allman from the 7th row at the Basie. He's been playing publicly since 1967 or so.
