Jill and Kristen went to London. Just want to see the photos? Click here! London 2009 - Day 1
After an uneventful flight we arrived in London at about 7:45. The worst was we had to wait almost 50 minutes to go through customs. At least our luggage was waiting for us. We then decided (well, I decided) to take the Paddington Express and then take a taxi from the station to the flat. It couldn't have been easier. |

We got here about 9:00. We freshened up a bit, went to the market to pick up some groceries. Kristen was complaining that there wasn't anything to do at the flat. (too small to go exploring).
So we set off to Picadilly Circus and went to the TI to get some info. We then decided to take the double decker tour bus. It's a hop off hop on for 24 hours. So that's exactly what we did for the next 6 hours. We stopped to pick up some souvenirs that were reasonably priced. Kristen was nodding off, so we ate lunch at Pret a Manger which is a chain and very fresh and good, Kristen even said they should have one in the US. (I found out they are in the US, Robbie told me they have them downtown).

After being refreshed by food and caffeine!!, we hopped back on the bus, but a different line this time to go to Harrods'. Kristen was in awe! "What doesn't this store have?" Hopped back on to finish the tour. We had to wait a bit longer than usual, there was a demonstration/protest at Parliament and Hyde Park. Finished the tour at Oxford St. and window shopped our way home to the flat.

It's now 7:30 and dinner is cooking and Kristen is watching a show about Henry VIII (picked up a frozen quiche) We'll probably be in bed in about an hour.
Tomorrow it's off to Camden Market and the Science Museum (they have a Wallace and Gromit exhibit).
