Day 2
Up and out around 10:00, in search of breakfast and a taxi. First stop was the Despar grocery store to pick up sunscreen for the fair maiden. Headed toward Campo di Fiori, found pastry shop had trouble finding a taxi stand. After walking pretty much in a circle asked the guy in the magazine stand where one was. Took a taxi to Via marsala to catch the Hop Off Hop On doubledecker bus which goes to all the major sights. We took the tour once around and 3/4 the way around the second time and got off at the Trevi Fountain. The sky started to get dark while we were on the bus (took some great photos) but luckily it didn't rain while we were on it.
Picked up some money at an ATM then headed to the fountain, much bigger than I thought it would be, also very crowded so we decide since it was almost 3:00 we would get lunch, we were having trouble deciding on what restaurant to go to until, as Kristen would say the heavens opened up. We ran into the closest one and had lunch, me rigatoni alla Norma and Kristen tagliattli with mushrooms. By the time we finished lunch the sun was out again.
So we made our way toward the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, via Campo di Firori and then home Trastevere. Got back to the apartment around 5:30-6:00. Facetimed Dave for about 1/2 and hour or so, then back out to get some dinner.
We went to a local place around the corner Kand I split a bruscetta amazing, me veal with artichokes not amazing and K roasted lamb and potatoes. She like hers. After dinner we walked around looked in the shop windows. K got herself a I <3 roma sweatshirt to go with her I love Paris and London ones. (Poor kid).
Face timed Dave again and to bed around 10:00
